The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center is partnering with the Nashville Rescue Mission this semester on its Please Don’t Blush … “undie-raiser” project.
The Nashville Rescue Mission distributes more than 50 pair of underwear to female residents at its women’s campus each week and is having trouble meeting this need. The mission is requesting donations of women’s packaged cotton underwear, sizes M-XXL.
If you are interested in helping with the effort, a VRWC staff member will deliver a discreetly labeled donation bin to your work area along with two flyers. Place the bin in a location of your choice and display the flyers prominently.
A wellness center staffer will come by and collect items from the bin at the end of each month. If the bin fills before month’s end, contact Jennifer Ray, VRWC activities coordinator, and someone will empty the bin within 24 hours.
