Metro Police to host free traffic-safety event July 25

The Metro Nashville Police Department will host a “Share the Road” awareness event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, in Centennial Park. The public is invited to attend.

“The idea behind this event is to reach out to the community and establish a long-lasting relationship to promote traffic safety,” said Sgt. Kevin Lovell of the MNPD. “Our goal is not just safety in vehicles, but safety for bicycle riders, pedestrians, joggers and teens.”

The free event will feature displays by the Metro Nashville police and fire departments, the MNPD Mounted Patrol, anti-theft automobile VIN etching, identity theft awareness, community shred and prescription medication drop-off locations, and more.
