“Your hard work, dedication and incredible tenacity have won not only the hearts of everyone at Vanderbilt, but fans all across the country and the world,” said Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos June 23 in a video message to the Commodore baseball team, head coach Tim Corbin and staff who are vying for a second consecutive national title at the College World Series in Omaha.
“You have reached the pinnacle of your sport, and more importantly, you exemplify the very best qualities and values of a student-athlete,” Zeppos said.
Vanderbilt will face Virginia Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the second game of a best-of-three series for the championship title. The Commodores took the first game on Monday 5-1.
