Anderson was first introduced to the ACOG while an intern by former OB-Gyn chair Lonnie Burnett, M.D., the benefactor of the endowed chair Anderson holds.

“My role will be to help guide the fiscal policies and priorities, and to help oversee the operational budget of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,” Anderson said. “I am honored to serve my colleagues in this role.”

Anderson graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and earned both his Ph.D. and M.D. from Vanderbilt University.

With more than 58,000 members, the ACOG, a nonprofit organization, is the nation’s leading group of physicians providing health care for women.
