Ashley Stokes, Ph.D., center, postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute of Imaging Science, received the 2015 Postdoc of the Year award last week at the annual Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium in Light Hall. Presenting the award were Ann Price, M.D., associate dean for Alumni Affairs on behalf of the Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association (VMAA), and Roger Chalkley, D.Phil., senior associate dean for Biomedical Research, Education and Training (BRET). Awards also were given to postdocs with the best posters and oral abstracts, and to those whose projects made the best use of shared resources. Katherine Murray, M.D., professor of Medicine and Pharmacology, received the Mentor of the Year Award. The symposium is sponsored by the BRET Office, the Postdoctoral Association, the VMAA and the Office of Research.
