Vanderbilt community invited to Strategic Plan town halls April 6, 7 and 16

Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in town hall meetings to learn more about progress and provide input on key initiatives of the Academic Strategic Plan.

Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in town hall meetings to learn more about progress and provide input on key initiatives of the Academic Strategic Plan.

“Just as we did during the ‘vision’ planning stage of the Academic Strategic Plan, we are committed to ensuring a bottom-up approach during the ‘action’ phase,” Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente said. “The input of faculty, staff and students is critical to ensuring that we craft holistic programs and solutions that have a positive effect on all 10 colleges and schools.”

The forums are scheduled for:

  • April 6, 4-5 p.m., Board of Trust Room, Student Life Center
  • April 7, noon-1 p.m., Mayborn 204
  • April 16, 4-5 p.m., Light Hall 208

“The vision that hundreds of individuals across Vanderbilt shared when we developed the Academic Strategic Plan is now becoming a reality through initiatives both large and small,” Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs Jeff Balser said. “Now is a perfect time to take stock of where we are and discuss, as an academic community, how best to build upon that momentum.”

The leadership team will share updates from the recent faculty retreat as well as progress made on initiatives, including cross-college teaching, immersion Vanderbilt, trans-institutional programs, education technologies and health care solutions.
