Gregory to chair child health advocacy group’s board

Luke Gregory, chief executive officer of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’ Hospital at Vanderbilt, has been elected to serve as chair of the Children’s Hospital Alliance of Tennessee (CHAT) Board for 2015.

CHAT is an organization that advocates for child health issues and provides a conduit for children’s hospitals to collaborate on quality and safety measures.

“I am honored to have been elected to this position and I look forward to working with the board and CHAT members to find the best ways to provide compassionate, quality care for the children and families of Tennessee and beyond,” said Gregory, who is also assistant vice chancellor for Health Affairs.

Gregory has served as CEO of Children’s Hospital and Clinics since September 2010, taking on the post as the hospital began a multi-phase expansion to address growing needs for inpatient bed spaces and outreach services.

His distinguished career in health care administration includes 32 years of experience in the field. Gregory joined Vanderbilt in 2007 as senior vice president and chief business development officer in the Office of Business Development.

He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He received the 2013 Regent’s Award from the ACHE for his years of service and leadership to health care management.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Gregory served as a senior executive at Baptist Hospital, Nashville, Northeast Georgia Health System and Blakeford Inc.

He earned an undergraduate degree from Emory University and holds a master’s degree from Vanderbilt and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Health Administration from Georgia State University.
