On Saturday, Feb. 21, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Vanderbilt University Police Communications received a call of possible shots fired in the area of Wesley Place Garage. Responding officers located a non-affiliated male victim with injuries from an apparent gunshot wound in the garage.
Video evidence revealed that multiple vehicles had parked in the garage, with the occupants going to a nearby business. As the individuals returned to their vehicles, a shooting ensued resulting in the victim’s death. The suspect involved in this incident was seen fleeing the area on foot, away from campus. Metro Police are actively investigating the incident.
