Imaging technologies and image-guided interventions will be highlighted during “Frontiers of Biomedical Imaging Science V” to be held May 12-15 at the Vanderbilt Student Life Center. The event is hosted by the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science (VUIIS).

There are many conferences where you see only short presentations of research in specific areas, but nowhere else are current trends across multiple modalities and areas of application surveyed in this way,” said VUIIS Director John Gore, Ph.D.

“This is the fifth conference in this series,” Gore said. “Previous meetings have been uniquely valuable to trainees in imaging or anyone wanting broad understanding of current technologies and focused applications.”

This year’s topics include:

• Advances in imaging technologies

• Imaging in metabolic syndrome

• Quantitative imaging for evaluating cognitive impairment

• Nanotechnology in imaging

• Image guided interventions

The program includes a stellar line-up of speakers discussing imaging techniques across the spectrum, as well as catered events. Attendees may submit abstracts for the poster session. Six abstracts will be selected for a Young Investigator Symposium on May 14. Deadline for submitting abstracts is March 20.
