Vanderbilt University has acquired property at 1415 17th Ave. S. formerly occupied by the Oasis Center. The site is located adjacent to the historic Sony Building property located at the southwest corner of 17th Avenue South and Horton Avenue that was acquired by Vanderbilt in July 2014.
The two-story Oasis Center building, constructed in 1995, comprises 7,749 square feet and sits on .59 acres. The site includes approximately 500 square feet of asphalt parking. Following some minor cosmetic improvements, Vanderbilt staff offices will move into the building in the coming months.
The Sony Building garage, which fronts 18th Avenue South, is located across the alley behind the Oasis Center property. The acquisition of both properties allows Vanderbilt to create an approximately 3.25-acre site across from The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons on the Vanderbilt campus.
