International Transgender Day of Remembrance occurs annually on Nov. 20. It is a day to remember those who have been killed as a result of anti-transgender violence, and serves to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.
Nashville will observe International Transgender Day of Remembrance with a ceremony from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 20 at Scarritt Bennett Center, located at 1008 19th Ave. S.
The event is sponsored by the TVals/Tmen Middle Tennessee Transgender Support Group, the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition, PFLAG Nashville, The Program for LGBTI Health at Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt Divinity School’s Carpenter Program, Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee, and Nashville’s LGBTQQIA+ and Ally Community.
