Are you interested in community-driven research, or are you seeking a community research partner?
Academic researchers, research students and interested community members are invited to attend an interactive poster session sponsored by the Meharry-Vanderbilt Community Engaged Research Core. The event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Lentz Public Health Center, located at 2500 Charlotte Ave. in Nashville.
The event will provide an excellent opportunity to meet with community representatives and discuss potential mutually beneficial collaborations.
Topics will include:
Center for Refugees and Immigrants of Tennessee (CRIT)
A needs assessment for an after-school program for refugees and immigrants.
Mental Health Cooperative
Interventions to increase utilization of primary care services by vulnerable mental health consumers.
Workers’ Dignity
Assessing the impact of wage theft on health among vulnerable and undocumented populations.
YMCA
Evaluation and marketing/communications research for outreach programs, including those for cancer survivors, special-needs group counseling, after-school enrichment, youth literacy, pre-diabetes lifestyle coaching and more.
