Trick or treat with the Greeks and student-athletes Oct. 31

Vanderbilt’s Office of Greek Life and Student Athlete Advisory Council will host the annual Trick-or-Treat with Greeks and Student Athletes from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

The event is designed to provide a safe trick-or-treating environment for families in the Vanderbilt and greater Nashville communities. Trick or treating will follow a path down Kensington Place and 24th Avenue South along Vanderbilt’s Greek Row. Costumes are encouraged. A bounce house and photo booth will be available at the end of the route.

The trick-or-treating path will go by fraternity and sorority houses where Halloween-themed activities are planned and candy will be passed out. The fraternities and sororities are teaming up for the event within their Tri-Council Circles, which are collaborative groupings of fraternity and sorority chapters from each governing council (IFC, Panhellenic and NPHC). This allows members from different organizations to come together in crafting an event for the community—a common goal of Vanderbilt’s fraternities and sororities.

Student-athletes make a strong contribution to the event as well by bringing groups of children from the Martha O’Bryan Center and hosting them for the evening.

The trick-or-treating route will be open to foot traffic only. Parking will be available in the garage at the corner of 25th and Highland avenues. In the event of rain, all activities will be moved indoors to the Student Life Center Ballroom, located inside the SLC at 25th Avenue South and Vanderbilt Place.

Note: All persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
