Orthopaedic programs honored

Vanderbilt Orthopaedics has been named in the Becker’s Hospital Review list of 125 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Orthopedic Programs.

The hospitals and health systems featured on the list have orthopaedic surgery departments, programs or dedicated centers that have earned recognition from several reputable sources.
According to Becker’s, “exceptional orthopedic departments include physicians who provide outstanding care to patients, front-line orthopedic research and treat professional athletes.”

To create the list, the Becker’s team weighted recognition for orthopaedic excellence from U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CareChex and Blue Cross Blue Shield with other awards and editorial research.

Vanderbilt Orthopaedics treats more than 186,000 patients each year with state-of-the-art techniques and technology in locations throughout Middle Tennessee and western Kentucky.

“We are honored to be recognized as a top orthopaedic program. From professional athletes to youth sports to adults with complex problems and everyone in between, we care for a wide range of musculoskeletal problems. This is great recognition of the top-level orthopaedic services our physicians and staff provide every day,” said Herbert Schwartz, M.D., chair of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.
