VUIT's Tech Hub pilot is open for business. (Vanderbilt University)

Vanderbilt IT‘s Tech Hub, which offers walk-up technical support, is scheduled for additional pilot sessions this summer at the university and medical center. The Tech Hub, modeled after Apple’s Genius Bar, provides tech support for Vanderbilt students, staff and faculty. The service was first piloted in May at The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons.

The Tech Hub will host a table exhibit at the 2014 House Staff Orientation in the Light Hall Breezeway on June 26. It also will be at Light Hall June 26 – July 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at the Heard Central Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8 – 18.

While the Vanderbilt IT Help Desk continues to stand ready to help by email or telephone, the Tech Hub will provide the Vanderbilt community with an additional option for quick and convenient troubleshooting. Tech Hub services include:

  • VUnetID assistance for problems such as an expired password or password change;
  • Vanderbilt wireless configuration for trouble connecting to the Vanderbilt wireless network on a tablet or smartphone;
  • Vanderbilt email configuration for difficulties connecting a device to Vanderbilt email; and
  • Software store assistance for problems accessing the free copy of MS Office available to students.

For in-person assistance with more complex technical issues – such as software or operating system problems, hardware troubleshooting or virus/malware cleaning and removal – bring your device to the Vanderbilt IT Help Desk at the entrance of the Hill Center, right next door to The Ingram Commons.

For more information, visit the Tech Hub, Help Desk or the Software Store.
