Becker’s Hospital Review has named Vanderbilt University Medical Center to its list of “100 Hospitals With Great Orthopedic Programs,” which recognizes the top hospitals with orthopaedic surgery departments, programs or dedicated centers.

Becker’s lauded Vanderbilt Orthopaedics for its more than 50 specialists, 10 subspecialty divisions, large research endeavors and spine surgery care. It noted more than 110,000 patients receive orthopaedic care at Vanderbilt each year.

To create the list, the Becker’s editorial team analyzed data from numerous sources, including U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CareChex and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
According to Becker’s, “Exceptional orthopaedic departments often include physicians who provide outstanding patient care, advance cutting-edge orthopaedic research and treat professional athletes.”

Becker’s Hospital Review is a monthly publication offering business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.

VUMC was one of three Tennessee hospitals on the list, along with Saint Thomas West Hospital and Maury Regional Medical Center.
