Coach Bob Knight speaking event cancelled

UPDATE: The original Jan. 15 event and rescheduled Jan. 16 event with Coach Bob Knight are cancelled.

Ticket refunds are available at the original point of purchase. Tickets purchased on campus may be returned to the Sarratt Student Center box office for a refund. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster.com will be refunded automatically.

Posted Jan. 8: The Vanderbilt University Speakers Committee and Vandy Fanatics will present “An Evening with the General: Bob Knight” on Wednesday, Jan. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. in Langford Auditorium. The event will include a lecture by Knight, followed by a Q-and-A.

Tickets are available now at the Sarratt Student Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are free for Vanderbilt students and staff (limit one) and $10 for the general public.

Knight is one of NCAA basketball’s all-time winningest coaches, with 902 wins in Division I men’s basketball. He held head coaching positions at Indiana University, Texas Tech and Army. While at Indiana, he led teams to three NCAA championships, one National Invitation Tournament championship and 11 Big Ten Conference championships. In 1984, he coached the U.S. men’s Olympic team to a gold medal.

In 2008, Knight joined ESPN as a men’s college basketball analyst. Following his Vanderbilt lecture, Knight will call the Vanderbilt vs. Missouri game at Memorial Gym on Jan. 16.
