Nashville Symphony CEO Alan Valentine kicks off a year-long series at Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m.
The Stronger Arts/Stronger Cities lecture series will involve a one-hour interview with leaders from Nashville’s arts community as well as political leaders recorded for Nashville Education, Community and Arts Television. It will take place on the last Thursday of each month during 2014.
Complimentary wine and refreshments will be provided.
Each guest of honor will be asked about their role in the arts community, why they think art is important to Nashville and how literary arts play a vital role in a person’s life. They also will discuss their three favorite books.
Future speakers will be Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos, philanthropist Martha Ingram, and Mayor Karl Dean, among others.
Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt offers free parking for all customers in the 2525 garage located directly behind the bookstore.
