Maintenance issue at Stevenson Center Math Building cancels classes

A small fire in an air handler at the Stevenson Center’s Mathematics Building has cancelled math classes for the remainder of today, Nov. 13.

Vanderbilt Plant Operations is on site to handle this issue with the building’s ventilation system. There are no injuries, but the incident has resulted in smoke and odor throughout the building.

The math department has closed offices and cancelled classes for the rest of the day and posted signs on classroom doors.
