Vanderbilt Home Care Services has been named to the 2013 HomeCare Elite, an unranked listing of the top 25 percent of U.S. home health agencies, based on various publicly available clinical and financial performance data.

“Internally we strive to deliver excellence in patient care, and it is especially nice to have this validated and ranked among the best in home health,” said Laura Beth Brown, president of Vanderbilt Home Care Services and vice president of Vanderbilt Health Services.

The list is compiled by OCS HomeCare, an industry consulting firm, and DecisionHealth, a home care newsletter publisher.

Clinical data used for the list includes quality measures reported through the Medicare.gov Home Health Compare program. Financial data are from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services cost reports.

According to OCS, 9,969 home health agencies were considered for the list and 2,496 made the cut.
