Vanderbilt University may nominate two candidates for the Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. Foundation Scholars Award. This award provides $100,000 per year for up to four years for research that advances knowledge in the various fields of medical and health research.

Candidates should be in their fifth to eighth year of a tenure-track faculty position.

Anyone interested in being considered as one of Vanderbilt’s nominees must submit the following (in PDF format) to LSO@vanderbilt.edu by 5 p.m. Nov. 22, 2013:

  • A brief (two-page maximum) research plan including a summary budget;
  • A brief statement of support from your department chair/center director; and
  • A brief CV or NIH biosketch.

Submissions should reference the program name in the subject line of the email. All applicants should verify their eligibility in advance through the foundation website.

Once received, all proposals will be forwarded to an internal review committee that will choose the final nominees. The chosen nominees will submit a full proposal to the foundation by Jan. 15, 2014.
