Everybody Has a Story is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, FYE, iTunes and Walmart, as well as at Children’s Hospital in The Friends Shop.

A compilation of songs written in music therapy sessions at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and recorded by some of Nashville’s finest artists was released in May. Everybody Has a Story is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, FYE, iTunes and Walmart, as well as at Children’s Hospital in The Friends Shop.

Children’s Hospital celebrated release week by offering a free download for a limited time of one of the songs, “Help Me,” written by Amy Overton and music therapist Jenny Plume and recorded by bluegrass singer–songwriter and musician Alison Krauss. Other artists who contributed to the CD include Kix Brooks, Melinda Doolittle, the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Maura O’Connell, Johnny Reid, SHEL and Phil Vassar.

The songs were written during the past six years, each song the result of a clinical music therapy session involving a patient and Plume. Other writers were Austin Bagby, Ethan Carpenter, Courtney Gaoette, Erica Kilburn, Gigi Pasley and Christopher Weber.

Multiplatinum record- ing artist Amy Grant, ’82, high-fives Children’s Hospital patient Gigi Pasley after recording Pasley’s song “What Is Normal” for the Everybody Has a Story album. Now 15 and in remission, Pasley has spent her childhood fighting leukemia and bone cancer.
