Vanderbilt recognizes Emergency Preparedness Month with launch of new website

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month, and Vanderbilt has launched a new emergency preparedness website to offer resources for both university and medical center faculty and staff.

Information included on the new website, emergency.vanderbilt.edu, includes emergency guides, personal and family safety information, fire safety information, severe weather preparedness resources, and detailed guidance for medical center and university staff under their own tabs in the main navigation.

Users may also log in to AlertVU, the university’s emergency alert system, on the site to manage their notification preferences.

The new website combines two previously separate websites to offer a shared resource that has information for all as well as information specific to university or medical center audiences. The site was developed by the Emergency Management Working Group led by Dr. John Morris, professor of surgery, in partnership with University Web Communications.
