Author Rob Bell talks ‘What We Talk About When We Talk About God’ March 14 at Vanderbilt University

Rob Bell, author and founding pastor and pastor emeritus of Mars Hill Bible Church, will discuss his new book What We Talk About When We Talk About God Thursday, March 14, at Vanderbilt University.

His talk, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. in Benton Chapel. Bell is the author of New York Times bestseller Love Wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived, as well as, Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith and Sex God: Exploring the Endless Connections Between Sexuality and Spirituality.

His books will be on sale at the event and a book signing will follow the lecture.

Bell was 28-years-old when founded Mars Hill Bible Church in Michigan and under his leadership it was one of the fastest-growing churches in America. In 2011, Time magazine included him among its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

A graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois, Bell attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif.

His lecture at Vanderbilt is part of the new Chaplain’s Lecture Series which will bring speakers who can give insight and meaning into what religious life is on a university campus. The event is co-hosted by the Office of Religious Life and the Cal Turner Program for Moral Leadership in the Professions.
