The No. 2 Vanderbilt Commodores open the 2013 season at Hawkins Field on Friday, Feb. 15, at 4 p.m. against Long Beach State.
Vanderbilt’s No. 2 national ranking is the highest preseason ranking in school history and the team’s highest ranking since being No. 1 in 2011.
The Dores bring a wealth of experience back this season and add a second consecutive top-ranked recruiting class to the mix. Vanderbilt is the only school to ever bring in back-to-back No. 1 recruiting classes, according to Baseball America.
Head Coach Tim Corbin and the Commodores play nine games at Hawkins Field in the first two weeks of the season as part of a 35-game home schedule. For more information on discounted faculty/staff season tickets, call (615) 322-GOLD or visit vucommodores.com.
