Upcoming Frist events to feature Vanderbilt anthropologists

Several events planned in conjunction with The Frist Center for the Visual Arts exhibition “Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection” will feature lectures by Vanderbilt anthropologists and be co-sponsored by the Center for Latin American Studies at Vanderbilt.

Presented in partnership with the Center for Latin American Studies at Vanderbilt.

Thursday, March 28           
6:30 p.m.
Lecture: “The Mysteries of the Ancient Maya Civilization and the Apogee of Art in the Americas”
Presented by Arthur Demarest, Ingram Professor of Anthropology and director of the Vanderbilt Institute of Mesoamerican Archaeology.

Presented by Annabeth Headrick, associate professor of art history at the University of Denver. Presented in partnership with the Center for Latin American Studies at Vanderbilt.
