Tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the United States, yet more than 45 million Americans still smoke cigarettes.
The American Cancer Society is marking the 37th Great American Smokeout Nov. 15 by encouraging smokers to use the day to quit smoking or to make a plan to quit. By quitting—even for one day—smokers are taking an important step toward a healthier life and one that can reduce their cancer risk.
Pick up a Quit Kit for yourself or someone you care about at Health Plus or the Occupational Health Clinic Nov. 15, or call at 343-8943 to have one sent to you via campus mail.
