Retired four-star Gen. Anthony Zinni will be the keynote speaker at the 2012 National Security Symposium at Vanderbilt University.
The symposium, which is open to the public, is 3:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 in Sarratt Cinema in Vanderbilt’s Sarratt Student Center. The theme this year will be “The Evolving Role of U.S. Military Intervention.”

Zinni, who is retired from the Marines and a former commander in chief of U.S. Central Command, is an instructor at Duke University and author of three books. He has been credited for foresight in predicting the dangers of terrorism coming out of Afghanistan before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
