The 2012 Geriatric Update Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Gladys Stringfield Owen Education Center at Baptist Hospital.
This conference is designed to meet the educational needs of primary care and allied health professionals working with geriatric patients and to promote inter-professional collaboration. The conference is presented by the Meharry Consortium Geriatric Education Center in collaboration with the Vanderbilt Center for Quality Aging, the Vanderbilt-Reynolds Geriatrics Education Center and the VA-Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) with support from the Tennessee Geriatrics Society and the Tennessee Association for Long Term Care Physicians.

- CME – Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians.
- CNE – This activity has been submitted to the Tennessee Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. The Tennessee Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
- CEU – Additional CEU/contact hour approvals are being reviewed for social workers, long-term care administrators and other health professions.
Registration fees are $60 for physicians, $35 for nurses and other health care professionals, and $15 for VA patient care staff to cover food costs. The fee is waived for students, residents and Baptist/St.Thomas health staff.
