Volunteers needed for Commencement 2012

Vanderbilt is gearing up for Commencement 2012 and there is a need for volunteers to help with the three-day celebration for graduates and their families.

THE PARTY

Wednesday, May 9 – A dance for graduates and families at The Commons, this year’s PARTY features dance band Liquid Blue. Volunteers are needed for two shifts – 8 to 10:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. to midnight.   

Volunteers for THE PARTY receive the following:

  • Dinner that evening
  • T-shirt branded with event logo
  • Opportunity to be a guest at THE PARTY when not volunteering
  • A gift for volunteering

Senior Day

Thursday, May 10 – Tom Brokaw, one of the most trusted and respected figures in broadcast journalism, will address graduating seniors and their families during Senior Day. NOTE: All volunteer slots are filled for this event.

Commencement Day

Friday, May 11 – The big day for graduates and their families, volunteers are needed 6:30 a.m. to noon at Alumni Lawn or Memorial Gym during severe weather.

Volunteers for Commencement Day receive the following:

  • Breakfast and lunch
  • A gift for volunteering
  • A great chance to network with many people across campus
  • A role in one of the university’s largest and most prestigious events on campus – Vanderbilt’s 137th Commencement.
