Cracker Barrel CEO to speak at Woman’s Club luncheon Oct. 20

Sandra Cochran, president and chief executive officer of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., will speak at the Vanderbilt Woman’s Club Annual Fall Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 20.

The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Hillwood Country Club, 6201 Hickory Valley Rd., Nashville, is open to the public, but reservations are required. To reserve a place at the luncheon, print a reservation form and mail a $25 check per person payable to Vanderbilt Woman’s Club, 690 Jones Hill Drive, Brentwood, TN 37027-6130 by Oct. 13. Please indicate if you prefer a vegetarian meal.

Cochran was recently named president, CEO and a member of the board of directors of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. She joined Cracker Barrel as executive vice president and chief financial officer in March 2009, bringing more than 25 years of financial experience to her role, including five years as CEO of the third-largest bookstore chain in the United States, Books-A-Million.

Cochran holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. Following graduation from Vanderbilt, she entered the United States Army, where she served as a captain in the Ninth Infantry Division.

The Vanderbilt Woman’s Club brings together the women of Vanderbilt University and provides an opportunity for intellectual, cultural and social activities within the community and the university. The club sponsors the Ada Bell Stapleton-Blanche Henry Weaver Scholarship through fundraising efforts.

Current membership includes more than 300 faculty, staff, faculty spouses and other members of the greater Nashville community who come together in friendship, fellowship and scholarship. During the academic year, social and educational programming fills the calendar from September through May.
