Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off Sept. 15 at the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center with a reception and presentation hosted by the Afro-Hispanic Review, which is housed at the BJJBCC, and the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Karl Dean was on hand for the festivities.

The Afro-Hispanic Review presented its latest issue, which features Nueva Vida, Nuevo Trabajo, a Metro Arts Commission Hispanic artist exhibition in partnership with the NAHCC.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
