The fourth annual DigitalVU month is under way. The month of workshops, open houses, lectures, discussions and more is designed to share information on all things online, from social media, to video, to programming topics and more with members of the Vanderbilt community.

This week’s events include:

  • Oct. 4: Digital guru to speak on the future of libraries
    Charles Henry, a leader in the efforts to deepen collaborations among libraries, especially with regards to digital projects.
    Central Library Community Room, 2:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 5: SharePoint
    John McCammon, ITS, will provide an introduction to the online collaboration tool SharePoint.    Towers Conference Room 233, Commons Center, 1-2 p.m.
  • Oct. 6: Learning Exchange: Online Learning Module Platform
    Anne Marie Danko, Learning Operations, will discuss the many functions of the Learning Center’s training software. Learn how to create eModule courses, electronic audience polling, attendance tracking and more.
    433 Light Hall, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Oct. 7: Collaboration Tools: Lync and Live@edu
    John Osborne, ITS, will give a high level overview of Microsoft Lync, Microsoft’s latest unified communication product.  We will then review what collaboration tools are offered by Live@edu.  We will also walk through how to setup your password and start using these features to increase productivity.

The month is co-coordinated by Medical Center Web and Creative Services and University Web Communications with support from the Jean and Alexander Heard Library, Information Technology Services and partners across campus.
