The Vanderbilt community is invited to attend Dore Jam, the free annual meet and greet with the Commodore football team and coaches.

Vanderbilt Athletics will host Dore Jam to kick off the 2011-2012 athletic year on Sunday, Aug. 7. It is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. at the John Rich Practice Facility.

Dore Jam is free to all Commodore fans. New Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin, his staff and the Commodore players will be there to autograph a free poster. Food and drinks will be provided. The event also features free children’s actviities.

Fans that have not yet purchased their 2011 season tickets will be able to do so on-site from the Vanderbilt Ticket Office.

“We have added some additional activities for the kids this year so that the whole family can be better entertained,” said Steve Walsh, director of sales and marketing. “This is a great opportunity for Commodore fans to meet the team and our new coaches in a fun setting.”

Fans attending Dore Jam can park without cost in the lots along Natchez Trace between Vanderbilt Place and Blakemore Avenue. Some activities will be placed outside of the Practice Facility on Natchez Trace in the traditional Vandyville footprint. Once inside the practice facility, fans will have a chance to get pictures and autographs with the football team along with members of other Commodore athletic squads.
