Vanderbilt baseball wins NCAA regional

Taylor Hill struck out a career-best 13 in eight innings, allowing only one run, and Jason Esposito went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBI in Vanderbilt’s 6-1 victory over Belmont in the championship game of the Nashville Regional Sunday night at Hawkins Field.

For the first time in school history Vanderbilt hosts the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament when Oregon State visits Hawkins Field beginning Friday.

The Commodores and Beavers play Friday night at 7 p.m. CT on ESPNU, Saturday night at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and Sunday’s if necessary game time is yet to be determined. For Super Regional ticket information call 615.322.GOLD.
