Training in Cultural Diversity and Workplace Stress offered April 19

Cultural diversity in the workforce may create both opportunities and potential complications. Differences in language and in the meaning of words and phrases may sometimes complicate communication. These, in turn, may create potential stressors for both the International employee and for their supervisors and colleagues.

This presentation explores the nature of diversity, reviews the use of language, identifies and defines the potential stressors, and helps develop appropriate suggestions for creating an International friendly work environment. It will be held on Tuesday, April 19, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in Medical Arts Building, Room 029. The instructor is Jim Kendall, LCSW.
