Course changes for the 2011 Country Music Marathon and Half-Marathon on Saturday, April 30, are expected to have minimal impact on the streets surrounding the Vanderbilt campus.

The course will start on West End Avenue by Centennial Park. Metro Police will close West End Avenue and Broadway at 6 a.m. ahead of the races’ 7 a.m. start. West End is projected to reopen at 9 a.m.

Runners will move to downtown Nashville on Broadway, then come back up Demonbreun to Music Row, then Belmont Boulevard, and back on 12th Avenue South to Music Row. The race will conclude outside LP Field with a new finish line on South 1st Street. The new course includes fewer miles in Metro Center and added miles in East Nashville.

Spectators are encouraged to line the route to cheer 30,000 runners and walkers towards the finish line. Volunteers are still needed at the expo and on race day. Sign up to be a volunteer.
