MEDIA ADVISORY: Huffington, Kristol, Pawlenty, Romer available to media

Arianna Huffington, editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post; William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard; Tim Pawlenty, a former governor of Minnesota and possible 2012 presidential candidate, and Christina Romer, former chair of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, will deliver public lectures at Vanderbilt University March 21-22 as part of the university’s annual Impact Symposium.

Prior to their lectures the speakers will sign books at the Vanderbilt Bookstore. The full slate of speakers will also be available to the media before their public talks. Media planning to attend the media availabilities and/or cover the lectures should contact Princine Lewis in the Vanderbilt News Service at 615-322-2706. Media must wear their organization’s credentials.

WHAT: Arianna Huffington, William Kristol, Tim Pawlenty and Christina Romer will deliver public lectures at Vanderbilt as part of the university’s annual Impact Symposium. Book signings and media availabilities will be held prior to each lecture.

WHERE: Book signings with the speakers will be held at the Vanderbilt Bookstore located in Sarratt Student Center.

The media availabilities will be held in Sarratt Student Center. – in the Rand Function Room (Room 216/220) on Monday, March 21, and in Room 341 on Tuesday, March 22. The public lectures will be held in Langford Auditorium.

WHEN: Book signings – Huffington and Kristol will be at the Vanderbilt Bookstore from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Monday, March 21. Pawlenty will sign books from 4 to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22.

Media availabilities – Huffington and Kristol will be available to media from 5 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 21. Each will be available for 15 minutes. Pawlenty and Romer will be available at the same time on Tuesday, March 22. They will also be available for 15 minutes each.

Public lectures – Huffington’s and Kristol’s public conversation, “How Does the Media Speak to the Middle Class,” is Monday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. Pawlenty’s and Romer’s lecture, “Whose Policy is Best?,” is Tuesday, March 22, at 7 p.m.
