Fireworks to cap Black and Gold Spring Game April 17

All Vanderbilt employees are invited to attend the annual Vanderbilt Football Black and Gold Spring Game on Sunday, April 17. A fireworks show is scheduled for immediately after the scrimmage and will cap a day filled with fun, family-friendly activities. Admission to the event is free with the donation of a children’s book to the Books from Birth program at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Kickoff for the scrimmage will be 6 p.m.

An array of other activities in the vicinity of Vanderbilt Stadium will accompany the intrasquad encounter that effectively concludes the team’s spring practices, including tailgating in Vandyville – with its assortment of kids and family activities – and a player autograph session.

“I want the Black and Gold Spring Game to become a special activity for Vanderbilt employees for years to come,” head coach James Franklin said. “I really can’t think of a better way to conclude the day than with a fireworks show.

Fans wanting to tailgate can use surface parking lots located off of Natchez Trace with all opening at 3 p.m. Vandyville, the popular gameday tailgating location along Natchez Trace, also opens 3 hours prior to the game.
